Solar Eclipse February 26, 1998

Back

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"A total solar eclipse occurred on February 26, 1998.  Totality was visible in Galápagos Islands, Panama, Colombia, northwestern Venezuela, the whole Aruba, most part of Curaçao and the northwestern tip of Bonaire (belonging to Netherlands Antilles which dissolved later), the whole Montserrat, Guadeloupe and Antigua and Barbuda."

These images were taken from a beach on northern Curaçao using a Questar 3.5" telescope sitting on an abandoned oil drum.  My family had been on a SCUBA diving vacation on Bonaire and hopped a flight to Curaçao for the day since the eclipse length was much better on Curaçao. The Nikon SLR camera used Kodak Gold 200 color print film.
