From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "The 2012 transit of Venus, when the planet Venus appeared as a small, dark spot passing across the face of the Sun, began at 22:09 UTC on 5 June 2012, and finished at 04:49 UTC on 6 June." This image was taken 6/6/2012, 1:01:42 PM EDT through a homebuilt 6" f5 Maksutov-Newtonian telescope on an AstroPhysics 600 mount at my Royal Oak Observatory in Maryland. The camera was a Canon T2i DSLR. The exposure was 1 sec at ISO 100. |
